People use time, energy, and money to do things and pursue their goals. So, if you want to achieve a goal that matters to you, you have to take action on it. But the easiest way to accomplish your goal is to use your time wisely.

And so we have the goal of taking out eight Visionaries, but it turns out that our goal in Deathloop isn’t to take out eight Visionaries, it’s to take out Colt Vahn. This makes sense because Colt is the main character, which means he has a lot of influence over the game’s story.

So in real life, we can measure the success of a goal by how much time we spend on it, but in a time loop, the amount of time we spend on a goal determines its success. We have a goal of killing eight Visionaries and we start out with three days worth of time, but by the time we’re done, one of the Visionaries has been killed and two have died. The amount of time we spend on the goal also helps us to feel good about ourselves.

The more we spend on the goal, the more success we can achieve. So in our short-term goal, we want to change the game’s characters so that they look like they’re going to be like we want them to be. It’s a bit like creating a new character to change the rules of the game so that we can have our character look like we want them to be.

The goal of changing the characters so they look like we want them to be is not really a goal. That’s not to say that there is no good reason for a player to want a character that looks like theyre like his. The whole purpose of a game is to have a player make choices to alter how they play the game. If a player wants a character that looks like he thinks he’s more of a badass, then that’s their choice.
