To get a better idea of how much time we spend touching our skin, we took a look at this infographic which shows the average time spent on touch in the U.S., and in the U.K. It shows that in the U.S. we spend on average about 10 seconds per person touching the skin, and in the U.K. we spend about 15 seconds per person touching the skin.
I think you have to realize that skin touch is a very specific thing. I’ve touched my arms and legs, lips, and hair, and found that I can really feel skin without even thinking. Maybe this is why you do so much touching yourself, to feel like you’re doing something important.
This is why so many people feel so self-conscious when they touch their skin. Because it’s so easy to touch yourself and realize that you are just doing something meaningless. Touching your skin, while a great exercise, is also self-conscious and probably makes you feel like you are not doing anything great.
