Of course, the game doesn’t work like that. There are no cameras, and no one can see you, so you need to get your head around the camera system and get used to it.
Once you get the ability to move in time, you can use the time-looping method on any room you want. The game is set in a museum with a single time loop of a room, so you can move forward in time to explore the room. The game is also set in the future, so when you go into the room with the time loop, you can explore by doing what you want within the time-loop.
As you move through the rooms of the museum, you’ll see how they change time, so you can decide what to do to change the time on specific things. In addition to time-traveling, Colt and many others can time-shift into any room and travel to any other room in the museum. For example, someone could time travel through the museum’s museum to find the same person in a church, and then time travel back to the church. It’s possible to time-shift into a church, time-shift into a hotel, and time-shift back into the museum all on the same day.
