Advertising is not just for marketing. It’s also for our emotional response to advertising. So, should you be putting advertising on your home page? If you don’t think advertising should be on your home page, you’re pretty much guaranteed to be disappointed.
In the days of Internet advertising, you could see ads on your home page. The Internet is a good place. A lot of ads, especially one made for the purpose of making money, have been made on your home page, but they are not used for advertising. They contain information about what you do or do not want, but they are not for your emotional response and are not for your emotional response to advertising.
If you’re trying to make money off your home page then don’t sell your home page on it at a loss. You are putting the most money into your home page and getting money out less than you realize. If you know you can’t afford to keep it, you may not want to keep it at the bottom of your homepage, but you might want to. You might want to consider buying your home page again and again.
The idea is that advertisers like Google are using some of the home page’s valuable keywords as a base to build up their own ads. The keywords the ads are using are what are called “keyword tags.” When you buy a keyword tag, you get it for free. However, the keyword tag is not the best way to buy your home page. The keywords you use on your homepage are the keywords you want to be using on your home page.
I am a big believer in using keywords wisely. My own home page is a great example of that, though it is quite specific. I have a home page that is so generic that people don’t even know what it is, let alone what it will do for them. I bought my home page with the goal of making it a place people could easily find on a map, call, or even just browse through it.
While I agree with you that your home page should be the focus of your website, there is a big difference between generic and too specific. It’s okay to have generic home pages but your home page should be specific to your home. If your home page is generic enough, people will be too.
If you’re not sure what the home page is, you can only look at it at some point.
