After a few months of testing, I have begun to plan on adding new elements to the game. I don’t have a lot of time to waste, however, so I am excited to play the new game. The team has already done a lot of research online, and we are planning to do some more research on the next project.
The pattern I am working on is based heavily on some of the patterns I learned at my first game design class at UC Berkeley. I learned about the fundamental “rules” of pattern recognition from Professor Brian Weiss, and I have been working on trying to apply these principles to the game design itself. I’ll be giving you guys an insight into my game design process here, and how it came to be. My game design process is pretty much a straight line from scratch, and the first phase is to create a game design document. This document allows me to describe the game’s fundamental design and rules. The second phase is to write the game.
This is the process of writing a game, or at least outlining a game that is meant to be played. The writing process is pretty much a one-way street. You can’t just start writing a game and it’s not finished. You have to do it all the way through, or you don’t even know what that game is.
You have to do it all the way through in order to know if its a game you like, a game you wish someone had written, a game you wish you had drawn, or even a game you wish you could draw. It becomes a constant tug-of-war between your creative impulses and what will be seen as the best game at the end.
